Location:  Sydney & Area
                                    
Part -Time Term - Position (25 - 40 hrs per wk)
SCHEDULE:  This position requires a flexible schedule, typically 5 days per week, with work hours that may include evenings, weekends, occasional days and variable scheduling. 


Salary: $19.50/ hour

The Supervisor position entails performing the standard duties of General Cleaning Staff, as well as the responsibilities of being the designated supervisor during a shift. The role will require juggling both sets of responsibilities concurrently and travel to different worksites.

     Duties of Supervisor:
  • Train and orientate the work assigned to cleaning staff
  • Inspect work performance and conduct regular inpections of assigned worksites
  • Reporting, cleaning supplies and equipment deficiencies through the General Manager, as required to ensure effective and efficient work continuity
  • Ensure timely adherence, by all employees at that worksite, to breaks permitted by the company
  • Communicate any personnel problems/issues to the General Manager
  • Ensure all team members adhere to all requirements under the DCI Cleaning Ltd. Occupational Health and Safety Program and ensure proper use of equipment, products and cleaning supplies
  • Treat all co-workers fairly, demonstrating dignity and respect in the workplace
  • Identify potential improvements and implement effective solutions.
  •  Ensure quality, safety, and confidentiality for employees, and clients.
  •  Maintain adequate stock of cleaning equipment, products, and supplies, including thorough documentation of inventory and orders.
  •  Notify the Manager of any damage to equipment, products, or supplies, including the need for repairs or replacements.
  • Travel between worksites.
Duties of General Cleaning Staff:

The “Supervisor” is expected to fulfill his/her role as a member of general cleaning staff, performing duties that may include but not be limited to the following:
  • Clean floors and stairs by vacuuming, scrubbing, mopping, sweeping
  • Clean, sanitize and resupply washrooms
  • Clean and polish furniture and fixtures, spot clean walls or other smudged areas
  • Clean sink, countertop, microwave, exterior surface of refrigerator in lunch/break room
  • Gather trash, replacing liners, and cleaning receptacles as necessary and transfer trash to designated location
  • Dusting and cleaning furniture
  • Cleaning windows (and window sills), glass partitions, mirrors, using appropriate cleaning solutions and equipment
  •  Adhere to all standards set under DCI Cleaning Ltd.’s Occupational Health and Safety Program
  • Conduct pre-use inspections of equipment at the beginning of each shift and report deficiencies to the General Manager using the “Equipment Deficiency Report Form”
  • Ensure all secondary cleaning solution containers are appropriately labelled
  • Maintain building and personal security and safety by checking and locking all exterior doors if security personnel are not on site and following the DCI’s recommendations for working alone  
  • Maintain janitorial storage closet in a neat and organised manner
Qualifications:
  • Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Highly organized and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Candidates must have a minimum of three (3) years of commercial cleaning experience.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience is required.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Valid and up-to-date First Aid & CPR certification is preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Valid and up-to-date WHMIS certification is required.
  •  A clear criminal records check, including a vulnerable sector search, is mandatory.
  • Exceptional attention to detail is essential.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • The ability to work effectively with others towards shared goals is necessary.
  • Highly organized with the ability to work well under pressure is expected.
  • A high level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability is crucial.
